Ahhhh...it's good to be queen. For a day or two...or three if I can manage to pull it off. Let me explain: my b/day is April 15th...tax day. But this year it falls on a Sunday. As much as I love Sundays...it doesn't allow all that much "fun," partying and what not. (for devout Mormons anyway) So we went to the mall on Saturday and I used the Bath and Body Works gift card I got for Christmas. (they had a huge sale...and let's just say, I'll be smelling very nice for many many years to come) Well, we stayed up Sat night cleaning, b/c i was not doing that on my day, and right at 12 midnight Jared planted a kiss and told me happy birthday.
Sunday morning he let me sleep in until 8.30a, which I never thought I would be so happy about waking up so early...I've been a late sleeper since infancy. Then he came in and woke me up with breakfast in bed: coffee cake made by Sara Lee, and family tradition on special days, and a cup of milk. (all in our "pretty" dishes) We went to church...a little late b/c I insisted on being pretty even though I couldn't find my mascara ANYWHERE, not to mention I honestly can't remember the last time I used it - sad, I know. Then we came home and Jared made me his awesome fettuccine alfredo with cheese/garlic toast and sparkling grape juice. Then we went to my sister's (who had some DQ ice cream cake left over). It was a very relaxing and nice day.
Today, I've been using the "my birthday is on Tax Day which is today, so it's pretty much still my b-day" line ...until Jared told me it isn't until tomorrow. Needless to say, I didn't believe him. I asked for validation of sources and he pulled up the internet. Sure enough, there is some discrete holiday in D.C. so it's pushed until the 17th...so we'll see if I can pull of some special treatment tomorrow. Otherwise, it's back to changing all the diapers for me.
